Go Daddy’s Super Bowl plans. The problem with Pepsi.
Go Daddy had some great commercials during last years super bowl. In fact, I had never been a Go Daddy customer before then and have since probably spent over $100 on domain registrations, renewels, and transfers over the past year on their site. It is a great company!
Bob Parsons (founder and president of Go Daddy) wrote a great post today about the goals of their marketing campaign and his response to criticisms by Pepsi over their "risque" commercials.
What is the takeaway? A great marketing method is to create something that truly stands out and polarizes the audience. That can mean anything from crazy ads (like Quiznos talking socks and babies) to a scantily clad Paris Hilton eating a burger. Stand out, be unique, do something drastically different that will cause people to talk about it.
