Today my friend Levi is awarding his first scholarship to the high school he graduated from in PA. The scholarship is sponsored by his internet company Coal Hill Media Group. Levi has shown his commitment to entrepreneurship and philanthropy at an early age. His scholarship is for entrepreneurial students. I was fortunate enough to be asked to be one of the judges of the scholarship.
Always remember where you came from and give back...starting an entrepreneurship scholarship is a great way to show your commitment to both giving back and entrepreneurship.
Wow, that is very admirable! Dan, can you please educate the crowd on how one goes about starting a scholarship via their budding start-up?

That is indeed a noble idea. I would love to start something like this at my highschool, so more information on how to go about it would be great. Specifically, how do you choose between candidates, and can you really measure entrepreneurial potential at the highschool level.

One thing to look into is whether your school offers any type of business or entrepreneurship classes, that is a good place to start. Beyond that you can look for well rounded leaders who are heading off to business school and have an essay component.
More important than supporting one individual person (who may or may not turn out entrepreneurial) is to show that entrepreneurship is a way of life and viable path.
