When being awful is a good thing
I just saw an article on TechCrunch entitled "3D Mailbox: Worst. App. Ever" which writes about an application that digitally displays your email as animations in Second Life. This company has been covered on digg, CNET, multiple blogs, The Times Online, among many others. All touting for the most part how this product is awful and a waste. However, this press must be driving some significant traffic and search engine benefits to 3D Mailbox. Even their YouTube video has been viewed over 15,000 times. This is clearly not an application built for saving time but there must be a certain potential customer base that will like the product, and its free so driving adoption and trial may not be too difficult.
